Hair Restoration Project
“Give me a head with hair, long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming, streaming, flaxen, waxen
Give me down to there, hair, shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there, momma, everywhere, daddy, daddy
Hair, flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it, my hair.” (1)
Who doesn’t admire a fine head of hair? We covet it, envy it, and even worship it. Before nearly every lecture I give, mostly to get rid of the butterflies, I myself ask, “How’s my hair? (At the tender age of 62 I am fortunate to still need a clipping every 4 weeks or I look like a shaggy dog.)
Millions of us aren’t so lucky. Hair loss is due to hormonal, genetic, stress or disease processes. No matter the cause, restoring a full head of hair is a growth industry.
Now, thanks to PRP technology, we can regrow, non-surgically, in combination with Acell, an FDA approved bio matrix that repairs and remodels damaged tissue, non-hereditary hair loss.
Our PRP technique can treat male and female pattern hair loss, alopecia areata, and eyebrow hypotrichosis.
The Hair Restoration Project isa 90 minute procedure beginning with our patented PRP harvest. We apply local anesthetics to the scalp, combine the PRP with the Acellbio matrix and nutrients, then inject the full scalp, or localized areas, such as the eyebrows or beard.
Recovery time is minimal and pain is usually managed with over the counter ibuprofen or homeopathic remedies such as Arnica Montana and/or Boswellia. Mild swelling of the scalp and forehead is common for up to 48 hours. We recommend light activity only until the edema subsides. Hair can be washed immediately after injection.
New hair sprouts as early as 2 months. 4-8 months is a typical time frame for hair to thicken and become noticeable. We lock in our gains with a Melatonin based scalp treatment to enhance the process. Additional injections may be necessary every 2 years.
Who Responds to The Hair Restoration Project?
Each patient’s experience varies but the most common conditions responsive to the
Hair Restoration Project are:
- Male Pattern Hair Loss-especially early stage or any time hair thins on the scalp. We need at least a little natural “peach fuzz” for kindling or we won’t be successful.
- Female Pattern Hair Loss-all stages of hair loss.
- Hypotrichosis (fine/thinned hairs) of the eyebrows and beard.
- Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis
- Metabolic etiology of hair loss-medication induced, thyroid induced, iron deficiency
