250 IU Human Chorio Gonadotropin

Subcutaneous Injection Daily X 50 Days

The HCG Story

Human Chorionicgonadotropin, the “pregnancy” hormone, or HCG, has a long, controversial history in the annals of weight loss.  Coupled with a very low calorie diet, it is, with proper supervision, a safe, effective form of rapid weight loss.  We view the HCG Diet, along with ourother Quick Start Programs as “tickets in the door.”  The issues surrounding the Quick Start Series are adequate nutrition, hydration and side effects from the hormone or protein themselves.

Hormones are chemicals produced in the body that carry messages from their organ of origin to specific cells.  Those cells, designed to keep the body’s natural balance in check, carry out the instructions received.

Human Choriogonadotropin signals the brain, specifically the hypothalmus, to burn fat and suppress hunger. The result?Reduced appetite, reduced abdominal fat stores, improved energy and a heighten sense of well-being.

(Incidentally, HCG levels in pregnancy are 2000 times a level achieved with our HCG dose, so no worries there.)

Traditionally the HCG diet begins with a two day free for all or “fat loading.”  You eat all of your favorite high fat, inflammatory, Standard American Diet (SAD) foods,  stimulating the Hypothalamus to release fat deposits from problem areas, and increase the metabolic rate.

This Phase is outlined in our online program CMG HCG Diet.  Contact us at doctrbil9@gmail.com. Here you can register online and receive instructions, information and daily menus delivered to your inbox daily.

We present the loading phase from a historical standpoint.  Many of our patients skip over this phase especially if you have gastrointestinal or autoimmune issues.

If you do begin with fat loading, administer the HCG to yourself as follows:

HCG must be refrigerated.  If it comes in two vials, freeze the second one until ready for use.  Draw the prescribed dose, typically dose is 250 IU (0.25 ml) daily, into a syringe

Injection sites are similar to insulin injection sites,  the abdomen or inner thigh.  If surgical scars are present, injection with in 2-3 cm of the scar may diminish pain at the injection site.

Prep site with alcohol swab.  Remove the needle cap from the syringe.  WIth your non dominant hand, stretch the skin taut.  With the dominate hand, ready for injection by having the thumb on the plunger.

Lay the needle on the skin with the tip at the desired entry point.  Quickly slide the needle under the skin, injection the HCG until the syringe is emptied.  Remove the needle.

Dispose of the needle in the provided Sharps container.  When full, or the program is ended, seal the container and dispose of at a proper medical waste disposal facility.

Phase 2 requires a low calorie diet while eating from a strict list of foods. (See below.)  Consistency in HCG administration and strict adherence to the diet determines  success.

A minimum of 25 days is necessary to reset your metabolic rate.  A maximum of 50 days is recommended for HCG administration and the very low calorie diet (VLCD) as the body adapts and can build antibodies, i.e. become immune to the hormone, leading to a “rebound” of weight gain.

 Food Substitutions

While we’d like to say eat anything in moderation, we recommend the following substitutions to lock in our gains.

Salt: Powdered garlic, powdered onion, lemon juice, lime juice, lemon crystals, lemon pepper free of salt, cayenne pepper, chili powder, commercially available salt-free spice mixes, black pepper, cumin, turmeric, ground cloves, oregano, ground allspice, celery seeds, coriander seeds, ground cardamom seeds, or any spice or combination of spices can be used to replace salt. Do not use “light” salts or potassium chloride salts because chloride, like sodium, is inflammatory.

Butter/Fat: Replace butter, margarine, shortening, lard etc. with olive oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil, walnut oil, canola oil, or avocado oil.  Olive oil and avocado oil are flavorful and rich in healthy monounsaturated fats.  Unfortunately, they have a poor omega-6 to omega-3 fat ratio (13:1) and must be complemented with more favorably balanced flaxseed (0.24), canola (2.0) or walnut (5.1) oils.

Sugars: Concentrated sugars of any kind even natural sugars (honey, maple sugar, date sugar), were not a staple in most pre-agricultural diets. Obtain sugar primarily from fruits and vegetables, not from concentrated sources. Fruit purees flavored with lemon juice and spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, mint leaves, ginger, vanilla, and other spices) can be used in recipes to add sweetness to sauces, condiments, and desserts.

Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages were clearly not a component of true lifestyle programs and should be limited to an occasional glass of wine, beer or spirits.  Saltless wines, i.e. cooking wines, can be used to marinate meats and add flavor to other cooked dishes.  In this context, the amount of added alcohol and sugar is negligible   Red wine contains a number of health promoting phytochemicals and antioxidants.

Cereals: Nut flours (almond, pecan, walnut, hazelnut, etc.) can be made in a food processor or  purchased at health food or specialty stores to thicken sauces or to add flavor to condiments. Use sparingly as they tend to unbalance diet and disrupt health, especially when used in combination with oils, honey, dried fruit or fruit purees.
